“Interesting people doing interesting things.”

I’m a freelance audio podcaster and documentary photographer with over 25 years experience of creating compelling news and publicity content for community organisations, social enterprises, development projects, higher education organisations, charities, churches, and public sector non-profits.

Think of me as your news guy.

Human stories. Thoughtfully documented. Professionally produced.

I’m based in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire. I also work across the West Midlands, London, and the North of England.

Remote recording for audio podcast production is possible too.

I work with organisations, communities, and individuals to record meaningful conversations and create documentary photo stories that connect with real people.

TESTIMONIAL

“Jerome’s been on our Back to Ours journey right from the beginning. We’ve had him on a bus with Dolly and Elvis, in and out of ice cream vans, and photographing everything from dance (which we know he loves) and contemporary circus, to Secret Gigs, exhibitions, and gigs at North Point.

“What Jerome does so well is capture people, and that’s what jumps out of his images for me – a love of people.”

Louise Yates, Director, Back to Ours.

Why ‘The Picture Poster’?

‘Picture Post’ was a groundbreaking British photojournalism magazine, first published in 1938.

The magazine was known for its engaging imagery and socially conscious content, becoming a voice for ordinary people during a turbulent era marked by World War II and Britain’s post-war reconstruction.

Its blend of photo essays and brief written human-interest stories delivered accesible storytelling, highlighting social issues and celebrating everyday life.

At its peak ‘Picture Post’ sold 2 million copies each issue! It shaped public opinion and set journalistic trends.

It ceased publication in 1957, but its pioneering photojournalism has influenced almost every professional news photographer since, including me.

Its style of storytelling is everything I’ve ever set out to achieve across my decades of professional documentary photography.
